purchasing for equipment orders to ensure timely execution of production orders
in an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)?

Here’s a bit about Roteq Machinery:
Roteq Machinery Inc. is an engineer-to-order company specializing in conceiving,
designing, and manufacturing of rotating equipment for the wire and cable,
umbilical, flexible pipe, and hose manufacturing industries. Our projects are
customized for our diverse customers resulting in a machine designed and
manufactured specifically for the application. Roteq Machinery’s projects span
the full range of rotating equipment including armouring, stranding, cabling,
taping, and includes auxiliary equipment for complete production lines.
Here’s what you will do as a Planner:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Planner will keep things moving, and
delivers tasks on time with minimal need for follow-up. They will be proactive,
act with a sense of urgency and have a solution-oriented mindset in order to:
- Create and maintain detailed job schedule
- Enter and set up equipment jobs in ERP system ensuring accuracy and alignment
with manufacturing needs
- Set up and maintain multi-level BOMs to support complex assemblies and
subassemblies
- Define routing paths with accurate setup and run durations for each operation
- Obtain outside quotes for subcontracting of full machines or subassemblies
- Obtain quotes for subcontracting of manufactured parts (complete RFQ)
- Issue POs for subcontracted parts (approval may be required)
- Direct movement of parts and material between subcontractors and Roteq
- Coordinate due dates for parts and material with assembly schedule
- Create kitting instructions by subassembly
- Monitor supplier deliveries and expedite regularly in conjunction with other
buyers
- Identify capacity constraints and recommend actions
- Other duties as assigned
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Minimum: College diploma in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing
Technology, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related
technical field (Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial
Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain Management is
preferred)
- ASCM CPIM designation an asset
- ERP system training or certification an asset
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training
- 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment including manufacturing
processes such as machining, welding, and inspection
- Ability to read and interpret drawings
- Strong computer skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills (both
verbal and written)
- Organized with high attention to detail and accuracy
