This role is challenging – above and beyond the day-to-day responsibilities,
you’ll have a big role within a fast-paced team.
This position will report into the Director of Engineering.

What you get to do every day:
- Build, design and maintain high-quality, scalable full-stack applications
using React, Next JS, TypeScript, Java, Node JS and modern frameworks.
- Leverage AI-powered tools like Cursor AI, ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, Perplexity or
similar technologies to streamline development, enhance user experiences, and
deliver innovative solutions at scale.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to bring ideas to
life across Backcountry, Competitive Cyclist, MotoSport, and SteepandCheap.
- Write clean, modular, and well-documented code that’s easy to maintain and
expand.
- Advocate for simple, scalable solutions by understanding business problems
deeply.
- Proactively identify technical improvements and recommend architectural
enhancements.
- Lead by example in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and driving best
practices.
- Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle - requirements,
design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Monitor systems in production and provide day-to-day support, ensuring
stability and performance.
- Occasionally lead a small squad of 2-3 engineers from planning to execution.
What you bring to the role:
- Senior-level full-stack development experience with expertise in React,
Next.js [http://Next.js], TypeScript, Java and Node JS
- Strong knowledge of modern web development concepts, design patterns, and
architecture.
- Experience with AI technologies like Cursor AI, ChatGPT, Copilot, or similar
tools to support full-stack development and user engagement strategies is a
plus.
- Experience in cloud environments (GCP/AWS) and with CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps best practices (nice-to-have).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Passion for clean code, unit testing, and performance optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent
experience).
