Responsibilities
Follow all company safety rules, regulations in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and fulfill safety related responsibilities. Wear proper personal protective equipment when appropriate.
Comply with company policies pertaining to Carmeuse values, harassment, workplace violence, drug and alcohol, standard work rules and practices.
Responsibilities of the position include managing front office activities in a fast-paced manufacturing facility as well as administrative support.
Supporting customer orders, providing customer service, troubleshooting customer concerns, interacting with carriers to ensure customer satisfaction, aiding with troubleshooting scale issues, invoicing customers.
Perform personnel administrative responsibilities including hourly scheduling, tracking of vacations and banked time in accordance with collective agreement.
Track, monitor and support the training plans ensuring compliance.
Support safety programs by performing administrative duties inclusive of managing MSDS documentation, action items and safety plan execution.
Assist with compliance activities, such as annual training.
Participate in administrative staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as required.
Assist with training initiatives and talent management, such as scheduling of training events.
Lead employee and community outreach coordination, including volunteer event planning, and coordination with local foundation representatives.
Provides accurate & efficient administrative support to include necessary communications internally and externally, including telephone coverage, copier projects and mail handling,
Read and comprehend instructions and correspondence. Write routine reports and correspondence to effectively present information and respond to questions from personnel as required.
Understand operations as it pertains to product storage, loading and testing capabilities.
Provide logistical support as needed including monitoring of truck driver safety compliance, troubleshooting of truck scales and liaising with drivers during loading of trucks.
Data entry into SAP and querying shipment reports.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred;
3+ yrs. Experience in an administrative role.
Computer skills at intermediate level or better required including Excel, Word, and database programs.
ERP (SAP) experience a plus.
Self starter with ability to work independently.
Experience working with vendors and contractors a plus.
Ability to think quickly when issues arise and use good judgment to make & carry out decisions that end in favorable results.
Willingness to continue education through company sponsored programs.
Analytical, process driven, with proven ability to meet deadlines and accept ownership.
Self-motivated.
Professional attitude coupled with the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
Accurate and have a strong attention to detail.
Outstanding organizational skills and proficient & efficient work habits.
