Job Summary
Porter Airlines is undergoing a technology transformation to modernize its IT landscape over the next 2–3 years. Core pillars include modernization, architectural alignment, and driving quality delivery across the organization. A critical enabler of this transformation is the Senior Lead, Technology Alignment, Systems Development.
In this role, you are accountable for managing cross-functional technical alignment across development, architecture, infrastructure, security, and delivery teams. You translate strategic direction into executable technical plans, ensure feasibility across domains, and resolve complex technical risks and dependencies.
You play a key role in ensuring that architectural designs and enterprise standards defined by Solution Architects are implemented consistently throughout the project lifecycle. You partner closely with architecture and delivery leadership to validate that solutions remain aligned to intent from design through deployment.
You also provide leadership to the broader Technology Alignment Lead (TAL) community, fostering best practices, strengthening delivery consistency, and supporting team development across portfolios. Through this role, you help scale Porter's delivery capabilities by embedding architectural discipline and cross-functional coordination into every stage of execution.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure solution design and implementation within the delivery squad adheres to enterprise architecture standards, reusable patterns, and integration principles
Translate architectural direction into actionable guidance for developers, QA, and DevOps team members
Provide hands-on technical leadership, including reviewing code, evaluating solution design, and coaching team members on best practices
Collaborate with the delivery partners to ensure technical feasibility, appropriate scoping, and alignment to business outcomes
Identify and escalate architectural risks, technical debt, and opportunities for improvement to the Solutions Architect and relevant stakeholders
Guide the technical estimation process, including evaluating trade-offs, level of effort, and sequence of delivery
Ensure non-functional requirements such as scalability, security, observability, and maintainability are incorporated into technical designs
Lead the Technical Alignment Lead (TAL) community of practice by coordinating standards discussions, facilitating knowledge sharing, and mentoring peer TALs
Collaborate with the Architecture Team to refine design principles and develop reusable assets and patterns that accelerate delivery
Stay current on relevant technologies and architectural approaches to inform the evolution of technical standards and practices
Actively participates in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply with and promote the Company Safety Policy.

Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
7+ years of experience in software development or systems integration, including 3+ years in a technical leadership or architecture-aligned role
Proven ability to guide technical teams in delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions in a complex enterprise environment
Strong experience with modern development practices, such as CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and automated testing
Experience designing and integrating APIs, microservices, or event-driven architectures
Solid understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and associated architectural patterns
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Experience facilitating knowledge sharing, mentoring peers, and contributing to communities of practice
Occasional on-call availability and/or the need to work outside of regular office hours may be required to support business needs and ensure continuity of operations
