As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Purchasing Specialist to join our team at our Markham office.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for toys, games, collectibles, and specialty merchandise.
Build and nurture strong relationships with vendors, distributors, and manufacturers.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to optimize profitability.
Monitor inventory levels and sales trends to effectively plan restocks and new product acquisitions.
Collaborate closely with merchandising and retail teams to ensure the right products reach the right stores at the right time.
Review purchase orders for accuracy and guarantee timely processing.
Analyze sales performance and product lifecycle to make informed purchasing decisions.
Track shipments and proactively resolve any issues related to delivery or product discrepancies.
Research new trends, products, and suppliers to continuously expand our assortment.
Coordinate with accounting and warehouse teams on invoicing and receiving matters.
Qualifications
4+ years of purchasing or buying experience, preferably in retail (toys, collectibles, or pop culture-related categories are a plus).
Hands-on experience with NetSuite is required.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
Keen analytical and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
