Relevant du directeur du groupe de conception des composants, vous serez un acteur clé de l’équipe des Composants Photonique Haute Vitesse (HSPC). Qualifications requises / Profil recherché : Baccalauréat en ingénierie ou dans une discipline connexe, avec un minimum de 4 ans d’expérience dans un environnement technologique orienté vers le développement de produits. Un diplôme de maîtrise ou plus est un atout ; Une expérience et/ou des connaissances dans les domaines suivants sont des atouts : composants photoniques intégrés haute vitesse, mesure de composants photoniques, conception optique ; Esprit d’équipe et capacité à développer de solides relations dans un environnement multidisciplinaire ; Capacité à organiser efficacement le travail dans un environnement multitâche et dynamique, fortement orienté par les échéanciers de développement ; Comprendre les défis techniques des projets afin de prendre les meilleures décisions/compromis ; Être rigoureux, bien organisé et structuré, faire preuve d’initiative et avoir un fort désir d’innover et de résoudre des problèmes ; Capacité à communiquer clairement (de façon concise), de manière proactive et orientée vers les solutions. Échelle de traitement: 78 900$ - 126 100$ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reporting to the Director of the Component Design group, you will be a key player of the High-Speed Photonic Component (HSPC) team. More specifically, you will be responsible for designing various photonic components under development in the HSPC group. This will include doing optical modeling of the component, defining the specification in collaboration with the modem team, planning design of experiment, analyzing the results of these DOEs to confirm and optimize the design in order to meet the performance requirements. In this role, you will have to interact closely with the other members of the HSPC group and other internal R&D groups. This state-of-the-art environment, working to design the most efficient optical products in the world, will motivate you and keep you at the forefront. Roles and Responsibilities: Develop a clear understanding of Ciena’s integrated photonic components to develop innovative new optical designs; Work with both the test and RF design and chip design teams to define functional specifications; Plan design of experiment to insure that all critical design parameters are met, while optimizing resources utilization and test efficiency; Monitor, document and communicate advancements and raise potential issues that may have influence on product functionality or target dates; Participate and organize design reviews, ensure documentation and follow-up; Perform Design Validation Testing (DVT) on the prototypes and final products to insure that the design meets the targeted performance and provide the results to the internal customer; Interact with other external groups (NPI and operation groups) to transfer the developed design into a production environment. Required Qualifications / Profile: A bachelor degree in engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a technology oriented and product development environment. Master degree or higher is an asset; Experience and/or knowledge in the following fields are assets: high-speed integrated photonic components, measurement of photonic components, optical design; Team player with the ability to develop strong relationships in a multi-disciplinary environment; Ability to effectively organize work in a multi-tasks and fast-paced environment strongly driven by product development schedule; Understand the technical challenges of the projects in order to make the best decisions/compromises; Be rigorous, be well organized and structured, have sense of initiative and a strong desire for innovation and problem solving; Ability to clearly communicate (synthesis) in a proactive and solutions-focused manner. Pay Range: The annual salary range for this position is $78,900 - $126,100. Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available. Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
