The Opportunity:
To work in a press department with a large double wide ManRoland Colorman press. As a progressive Development Technician (PDT), you will support the Press Department by fulfilling the necessary roles on a shift to meet production requirements, including replacing personnel on vacation, unscheduled absences or supporting another person to ensure the operation is successful. You will be responsible for fulfilling the following roles when required. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Press assistant
Roll Technician
Gammerler Operator
Press Tech II
Qualifications:
Preferancw will be given to those who have acquired vast knowledge of the various roles throughout the Press department, noted above.
Superior organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks to support the press production environment, with a focus on safety and quality.
Possess strong mechanical ability
Lifting, up to 50 lbs; repetitive
Health & Safety
Know what to do in case of emergency
Follow H&S rules, regulations and equipment safety guidelines
Lock out Tag out/ Confined Space policy, etc.
Know how to use emergency stop buttons
Identify safety hazards and inform shift manager on duty
Participate in any and all training provided by the Company
Environmental Responsibilities
Recycle in appropriate containers
All cardboard/boxes
All paper
All expired cores
Teamwork
Initiate support to other members of the crew when assistance is needed in order to meet production requirements (ex. other Press lines, Reel Stands, Gammerler, maintenance, housekeeping, tow motor etc.)
Share best practices with other Press crews
Assist in preparing for following productions
Maintenance/Housekeeping
Ensure daily maintenance is performed on all equipment
Perform preventative maintenance as per schedule or as required
Report equipment problems and breakdowns to maintenance personnel during the shift as well as to the shift manager on duty
Qualifications:
3 years previous experience preparing rolls, operating reel stands, running a Gammerler Stacker, spotting plates and setting colour on a double wide printing press.
Knowledge of customer requirements
Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations according to M.O.L. requirements

Knowledge of Reel stands, Aurosys, Gammerler Stackers, material handling equipment
Quality conscious with a keen eye for non-conforming consumables
Tow Motor/Clamp Truck and Walkie Rider License
Knowledge of Windows operating systems
The successful candidate must be able to work shifts in a 24 hour / 7 day a week environment.
