This posting is for one full-time temporary position up to one year
The HR Service Centre is responsible for the administration of programs and policies related to functional areas of Human Resources. The Human Resources Service Specialist has a critical role within the team by communicating and processing activities related to the employee lifecycle, from hire to retire. The position requires a proactive approach in anticipating needs and a solutions-oriented mindset to resolving issues.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery of Human Resources operational processes throughout the employee lifecycle, including hiring, onboarding, employee changes, promotions, compensation, benefits, termination, and off boarding
Execute transactions both within Oracle HCM and outside of the system
Day-to-day benefits administration
Collaborate with Human Resources Business Partners, Payroll, HR Systems, and other teams to ensure that processes and practices are delivered consistently, reliably and in a timely manner
Act as a subject matter expert on Oracle processes by providing advice, internal consultation, and coaching to others
Identify gaps/errors, troubleshoot, and work collaboratively with business leaders and other teams to determine the best approach to find a solution
Create documents, forms and process maps to support HR Service Centre operations
Provide escalation support for employee and leader inquiries
Qualifications and Skills
Diploma in Human Resources, Management, Business or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
Strong knowledge of Human Resources policies, procedures and operating practices
Experience in benefits administration, preferably in a public sector environment with both union and non-union benefit plans
Proficiency with Oracle or a similar HRIS; advanced Excel and SharePoint is an asset
Ability to apply Human Resources principles to various situations with a wide audience, and provide guidance and advice on policy or procedures
Ability to organize workflow and priorities to meet deadlines
Creative and resourceful in finding solutions to issues
Highly analytical with technical aptitude
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
Ability to collaborate with and support various stakeholders and build relationships
Excellent customer service and team skills with a positive and can-do attitude
