About Queen Margaret’s School

The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and creative Junior School Music Teacher to inspire and engage students in Kindergarten through Grade 4. The successful candidate will bring energy, musical expertise, and a collaborative spirit to guide students through a rich program of music education, performances, and community events.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with our curriculum for K–Grade 4.
Prepare and lead musical performances for key school events, including:
Remembrance Day (November) – 1 song, with optional whole-school participation.
Christmas Concert (December) – 2 songs per class, collaborating with colleagues for staging and accompaniment.
Grandparent’s Day (April) – Performances by K/1, 2/3, and Grade 4 classes.
End-of-Year Ceremonies (June) – Performances for K/1 and 2/3 classes.
Integrate instrumental instruction, including recorders, xylophones, and ukuleles.
Collaborate with colleagues for special productions, such as the Grade 4 participation in the Intermediate Musical.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
What You Bring
A degree in Music or Music Education (or equivalent training/experience).
BC Teacher Certification or eligibility.
Strong vocal and instrumental skills, with the ability to teach multiple instruments to young learners.
Experience leading school musical performances.
A collaborative, student-centered approach to teaching and learning.
