TITLE: Sr. Director of Marketing LOCATION: Snowbird STATUS: Full Time, On-Site SUMMARY The Senior Director of Marketing at Snowbird is a visionary leader responsible for shaping and executing the resort’s comprehensive marketing and events strategies. This role drives brand awareness, guest engagement, and revenue across all profit centers – including lift ticket and pass sales, lodging, dining, retail, rentals, Mountain School, and events. This role involves leading a team, managing budgets, and overseeing all aspects of marketing, including digital, print, social media, partnerships and in-resort marketing as well as year-round events. Snowbird’s Senior Director of Marketing reports to Snowbird’s President and GM and is a member of the Snowbird Resort Leadership Team. This role also reports into the POWDR’s Senior Vice President of Marketing. WHAT YOU’LL DO Strategic Leadership & Brand Management Lead the development and execution of a unified brand strategy that reflects the resort’s global position in the resort industry, values, heritage, and commitment to sustainability and inclusivity. Serve as the brand guardian, ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications, visual identity, and guest touchpoints. Collaborate with executive leadership, POWDR, other managers and department heads to align marketing goals with overall business objectives. Execute large- and small-scale year-round events Represent Snowbird with Utah DMO’s and other organizations Digital Marketing & Innovation Oversee all marketing efforts including SEO/SEM, programmatic advertising, retargeting, and paid social campaigns. Leverage resort’s robust CRM Leverage AI and machine learning tools for predictive analytics, personalization, and campaign optimization. Stay ahead of digital trends and emerging platforms to engage key audiences. Content Strategy & Storytelling Develop and manage a robust content calendar that supports seasonal campaigns, brand storytelling, and guest communication. Oversee production of high-quality multimedia content (video, photography, blogs, podcasts) that showcases the resort experience. Partner with influencers, athletes, and creators to amplify reach and authenticity. CRM, Loyalty & Guest Engagement Lead CRM strategy and database segmentation to deliver personalized, lifecycle-based communications. Enhance guest retention through loyalty programs, referral incentives, and post-visit engagement. Use guest feedback and NPS data to inform marketing and service improvements. Media Planning & Performance Marketing Manage media planning and buying across all channels: digital, social, TV, radio, print, and out-of-home. Optimize marketing spend through A/B testing, attribution modeling, and real-time performance dashboards. Collaborate with agencies and media partners to maximize ROI. Social Media & Community Engagement Guide the social media team in creating engaging, on-brand content across platforms. Foster community through user-generated content, live events, and real-time engagement. Monitor sentiment and trends to inform content and crisis communication strategies. Cross-Departmental Collaboration Work closely with Sales, Programming and Partnerships, HR, and operations to support Recruiting, Group Sales, and resort-wide initiatives. Provide marketing support for resort events, festivals, and community partnerships. Represent the resort in industry associations and tourism boards (e.g., Ski Utah, Visit Salt Lake, The Mountain Collective). Budgeting & Team Development Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic investment. Recruit, mentor, and retain top marketing talent. Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, continuous learning and fun. Conduct regular performance reviews and professional development planning. WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred). 10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven success in digital marketing, brand management, and team leadership. Experience in the resort, hospitality, tourism, or outdoor recreation industry strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies Strategic thinker with strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Proficiency in marketing platforms (Google Analytics 4, Meta Ads Manager, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.). Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, CMS platforms, and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello). Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Expert skier or snowboarder with a passion for skiing/snowboarding and mountain culture. WORK SCHEDULE Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility for events and peak seasons. Many weekends in peak winter season and Oktoberfest. Occasional overnight stays at Snowbird. WORKING CONDITIONS Environment: Office-based with frequent outdoor exposure in alpine conditions. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and ski or snowboard the majority of Snowbird’s terrain. Travel: Occasional travel for industry events, partnerships, and media engagements. Must be prepared to stay overnight during road closures or major weather events.
