As the Human Resources Manager, you will build high-functioning partnerships with business groups, senior leaders, and managers. Your role will be critical in developing and executing business unit and cross-functional strategies that align with GFL’s vision and objectives, enhancing our HR best practices. Your Impact: Strategic Partnership: Act as a strategic partner by providing employee and labor relations advice, support, and guidance. Assist the Ontario region in achieving their operational goals through effective policy and legislation interpretation/compliance. Employee Engagement: Lead engagement with employee groups and union representatives focusing on communication, planning, and problem-solving to ensure excellent employee and labor relations. HR Services Implementation: Implement HR programs including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, total rewards, health and wellness benefits, training and development, records management, employee health and safety, succession planning, employee retention, and HR compliance. Conflict Resolution: Provide resolutions to employee relations issues by conducting thorough and objective investigations. Performance Improvement: Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems, evaluating potential solutions, and implementing selected solutions. Provide coaching and counseling to managers and employees. Data Analysis: Develop and analyze reports to provide fiscal justification for personnel activities related to staffing levels, turnover, absenteeism, talent acquisition, compensation, promotions, and employee productivity. Legal Compliance: Ensure that all relevant law and regulations are considered to ensure HR compliance. You Have Must have experience working in a Unionized environment. Bilingualism is mandatory - Can speak English and French fluently. Degree or Diploma in Human Resources. CHRP designation is an asset. Minimum of 3+ years of related experience in progressive human resources roles, especially in large, complex and multi-stakeholder environments. Strong leadership skills with a focus on results and teamwork, and a client service orientation. Advanced knowledge of current Canadian labor laws, Human Rights, and Employment Standards. Ability to resolve matters independently while using appropriate judgment to seek guidance as needed. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal. Demonstrated experience in writing professional documentation such as policies, procedures, labor briefings, business cases, disciplinary or corrective actions, and corporate memorandums.
