Job Summary: ACE, as a key Core Research Facility at Ontario Tech, is required to conduct many externally facing activities: events, research activities as well as trade shows and conferences. In addition, ACE has many internal events and activities focused on students, faculty and other departments including Advancement and Recruitment.
Key activities for this position will be content development for the ACE / Ontario Tech website, ACE marketing and sales materials, ACE newsletters and social media; developing materials, arranging printing and/or digital display of materials and content; updating website and social media; organizing and executing external and internal events at ACE. This position will also provide ongoing support for ACE business development and operations for research initiatives.
Nature of work:
This position reports to the ACE Business Operations Manager and supports the ACE Marketing Sales Manager. The position supports the Marketing & Business Development function at ACE.
Responsibilities/accountabilities:
Event Organization:
Connect with external organizations (eg OCI, FedDev, APMA, OVIN) to coordinate speakers, attendees and demonstrations
Connect with colleagues across Ontario Tech to coordinate presentations and attendance
Organize all Catering, Parking, Facilities (seating, A/V equipment etc.)
Work with Marketing & Communications / Advancement to prepare invitations, messaging, signage, logos etc.
Coordinate Innovation Garage activities
Communication & Content Development:
Write content for websites (ACE, CERL, Hydrogen Commercialization and Demonstration Centre)
Produce videos and photos for websites, trade show materials, event invitations, walls and chambers at ACE
Communicate by email, phone, social media with ACE and HCDC users when required
Market Analysis & Research:
Conduct Research and Analysis on potential users (e.g Defence / IBT opportunities).
Experiential Learning:
Organize and execute Experiential Learning opportunities for Ontario Tech students through Innovation Garage Series Events
Organize external experiential learning events and tours such as Science Rendezvous
Operations Support:
Support ACE Operations through organizing Team Meetings, Scheduling, Chamber organization etc.

Completion of a three year post-secondary program
A combination of education and experience may be considered for this role
