The Mechanical Quality Control Inspector is located in either Pickering or Bowmanville and typically reports directly to the QC Manager. The quality control inspector is responsible for performing daily inspections and test activities for receipt, processing, and final inspections and tests as instructed by the QC Manager. The Mechanical QC Inspector is accountable for documenting all inspection and test activities in accordance with the various QA programs of Black and McDonald PGR. The Mechanical QC Inspector is responsible for working with other groups during the implementation of the Quality Program activities. The Mechanical QC Inspector shall ensure the highest degree of employee and plant safety, as well as quality standards, are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform work activities in a safe manner and in compliance with Black and McDonald Safety Program and those of our customers
Perform receipt, in process and final inspection and test activities including maintaining accurate inspection and test status of items
Interface with Regulatory Authorities
Perform special process monitoring activities
Ensuring correctness of Work Sign-off activities as related to inspection and test activities
Aid with the implementation of the Quality Management System and Programs within PGR
Preparation or review of Inspection and Test Plan(s)
Coordination for Project QC activities, including interfaces with client or outside organizations (subcontractors)
Liaison with Pressure Boundary jurisdiction
Ensuring the preparation of the Manufacturer’s Data Reports
Accurate and timely verification of inspections and tests shown in the Inspection and Tests plans or as otherwise assigned by the QA Manager
Documentation of the results of the inspections and tests as required
Ensure proper use and safe handling of measurement and test equipment, including recording where used
Identify and control nonconforming items according to Black & McDonald Procedures

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 2 years of college education or University degree in a technical-related discipline or related experience
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 10 years of construction trades experience and:
Minimum 5 years QA/QC experience, including experience in non-conformance control, corrective action process and inspection and test plan generation
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Dependent on the Inspection Discipline
Welding Inspector, if applicable
Certified CSA W 178.2 Level II or III or
Alternatively, certification schemes such as API, AWS or the National Board as approved by the Quality Assurance Manager, as applicable
Comprehensive knowledge of Codes and Standards
Good oral and written communication skills in English
Computer Literacy: MS Office, Outlook, and Excel
Ability to work outside regular business hours to support ongoing projects as required
OPG Security Clearance requirements
