Position Summary
Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Audio-Visual (AV) Technician will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio-visual equipment used in various events, presentations, conferences, and meetings. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in audiovisual systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to deliver exceptional service to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Setup and Operation: Set up and operate AV equipment such as projectors, microphones, speakers, video screens, lighting, and sound mixing equipment for both on and off-site events, meetings, and presentations.
Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot technical issues with AV equipment during events, quickly identifying and resolving problems to ensure seamless operations.
Quality Control: Ensure the quality and functionality of AV equipment by performing regular maintenance checks, repairs, and updates as needed.
Staff Support: Aid staff before, during, and after events, ensuring their AV needs are met and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Collaboration: Collaborate with event organizers, presenters, and other team members to understand their AV requirements
Training: Train staff on the proper operation, and maintenance of AV equipment, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety guidelines.
Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional certifications or training in AV technology or related fields are a plus.
Experience: Previous experience working as an AV technician or in a related field is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting AV equipment such as projectors, speakers, microphones, mixers, and livestreaming events to the Internet.
Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with staff during events.
Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively.
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing requirements, schedules, and environments in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License, and a reliable vehicle.
Must have a current satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Clear Adult and Child Abuse Checks.
