Job Description What’s the Opportunity? As Manager, Business Continuity Risk, you are responsible for the execution of the Business Continuity Risk Management (BCRM) Program within Personal Banking and Commercial Banking Canada. As a key contributor, this role will provide BCRM subject matter expertise and work directly with the RBC Business Units and Business Risk Managers regarding all policy and standard requirements, ensure viable recovery strategies and business continuity plans are tested. The Manager, Business Continuity Risk also supports RBC Business Unit to prepare and respond to incidents. What will you do? Provide BCRM subject matter expertise and work directly with the RBC Business Units Support RBC Business units in the ownership and management of business continuity risk to ensure adherence to the BCRM program, policy and standard Partner with RBC Business Units to ensure all business continuity risks have been identified and populated within the business impact analysis (BIA) Partner with RBC Business Units to develop clear requirements for recovery strategies & internal contingency plans (long, medium, and short term) and workarounds, including protocols for invoking Business Continuity Plans Identify RBC Business Unit recovery time and point objective gaps or single point of failure, challenging business requirements as required and assist in developing workarounds Support the planning and coordination with RBC Business Units to validate plans and workarounds by testing severe but plausible scenarios Support the incident management process, as required What you need to succeed? Must- have University degree, or equivalent 5+ years of experience in executing operational risk management practices in the financial services industry, including implementing appropriate strategies to mitigate risk Strong understanding of Business Continuity Risk Management Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio) Strong program management skills with the ability to independently create and execute a detailed plan Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills Effective collaboration skills Experience working in a complex, matrix environment and proactively managing a diverse set of stakeholders Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to independently recognize problems, propose solutions and execute on them Nice-to-have Operational Risk Management or Internal Audit background Business experience in executing business continuity plans Knowledge of regulatory requirements and leading practices regarding Operational Risk Experience of working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities What’s in it for you?
