Reporting to the Tr’inkè Zho Manager, the incumbent coordinates, facilitates, and supervises Tr’inkè Zho’s early childhood programs. The incumbent works with early childhood educators and the Tr’inkè Zho Manager to ensure that Tr’inkè Zho is well managed, high-quality care is provided and ensuring that staff are mentored and supported. The incumbent must ensure compliance with the Government of Yukon’s Childcare Act and Regulations, while also assisting early childhood educators to create, plan, and implement daily programming that meets and supports the unique needs of Tr’inkè Zho participants.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in early childhood education, child development, or Early Learning and Child Care, along with a Level 3 Child Care Designation (as per the Government of Yukon’s Child Care Act and Regulations) and a minimum of five years of experience working in the early learning field. An equivalent combination of education, knowledge, skills and experience may be considered.
Proficient knowledge of child development theory, practices and principles, combined with practical experience in developing children-specific programming.
Knowledge and understanding of working with children with unique needs (FASD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and other physical disabilities, and mental wellness and concurrent disorders, and knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
Experience in case management, including maintaining case records, researching and evaluating data, and assembling reports and recommendations.
Prior supervisory experience.
Proficiency in the use of SharePoint, Microsoft Office/365 and videoconferencing technologies.
Knowledge of TH Government structures, culture, traditions, history, demographics, family structures, basic phrases of Hän language, and the intergeneration impact of residential schools on individuals, families and communities. Knowledge of community agencies (re: funding and programming partnerships).
Excellent record management, organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
Conditions of Employment:

Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with clear driver’s abstract.
Standard First Aid Certification and CPR for Children.
Level 3 YG Child Care Designation or willingness to obtain.
TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
