Job Description What is the Opportunity? We are seeking a seasoned security engineering leader to develop and implement automated solutions for enterprise architecture governance and regulatory compliance. As the Principal Engineer - Software Development, you will be a key member of our engineering team, responsible for designing, testing, and deploying governance gates and security architectures that ensure the highest level of security and compliance for our organization. The scope of this role is significant, as the solutions you develop will be used by all applications across the enterprise, impacting thousands of users and systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization meets regulatory requirements and maintains the trust of our customers and stakeholders. What will you do? Design, develop, deploy, and maintain standard governance models for enterprise architecture with a focus on security, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with regulatory standards in collaboration with federated teams. Design, develop, and deploy security patterns and reference implementations that integrate with enterprise architecture, including data protection, identity and access management, application and infrastructure security. Translate architecture standards and policies into actionable patterns that can be applied to code, develop tests to evaluate the presence of these patterns, and generate reports on the adoption of these patterns to ensure compliance and monitor risk management throughout the development and operation stages. Work with cross-functional teams to discover, document, and validate architecture components, and implement automated validation processes to maintain up-to-date documentation. Contribute to governance frameworks that encompass both enterprise and security architecture, obtain buy-in from Architecture Review Boards and other key stakeholders, and implement to ensure widespread adoption and adherence to the frameworks. Enhance and optimize the existing Enterprise Architecture tools, including IIPM, Athena, and techScape, to streamline governance processes by integrating with upstream source systems and live pipelines/source code/container repositories, ensuring accurate and reliable data is available to support informed decision-making. What do you need to succeed? Must-Have: A degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field with a focus on enterprise security architecture. 10+ years of experience in Technology including enterprise CI/CD pipelines, application security, and quality engineering/testing Experienced with either modern programming languages e.g. Java, Python, and/or similar languages Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive strategy, influence stakeholders, and manage high-level architectural initiatives. Proficient in one or more security domains including Data Protection, Identity and Access Management, Cyber Threat Management, Infrastructure Security etc. Knowledge of cloud (AWS, Azure) and on-premises infrastructure platforms (OCP) Strong understanding of open systems architecture including integrations with vendor packages, relational databases, message queues, web services, and SaaS technologies Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to effectively articulate architectural concepts and strategies. Nice-to-Have: Certifications in security architecture (e.g., CISSP, CISM) or related fields. Experience with risk assessment methodologies and the ability to integrate risk management into architectural practices. Skills in leading organizational change to adopt new architectural standards and practices. Hands-on experience with EA tools and software that support architecture discovery and documentation automation. A track record of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, product management, and application development. What’s in it for you?
