Position Title: Operational Efficiency Analyst
Reports To: Manager, Operational Planning, Support and Communications
Department: Individual Wealth
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

As an Operational Efficiency Analyst, you will lead strategic initiatives to enhance client and partner experiences by redesigning processes, improving reporting, and delivering data-driven insights. You’ll apply methodologies like Lean Six Sigma to identify opportunities, implement solutions, and drive measurable improvements in operational performance. What you will be doing:
Identify, own, and implement initiatives that improve operational processes, sometimes from initial opportunity identification through to sustained benefits realization to increase quality and client value
Consult with management on business needs, opportunities, and operational effectiveness, with recommended solutions for process improvements
Conduct in-depth process analysis and propose how existing processes can be transformed through automation and digitization, leveraging Microsoft Visio to map both current and future state processes
Develop and implement the change management plan as part of process redesign initiatives
Consults and coordinates with stakeholders to design and map business processes and procedures
Defines requirements for new or enhanced process changes, ensuring client needs are central to design solutions
Work in partnership with Operations to ensure successful implementation of improved or new processes and procedures
Perform analysis of operational data insights and identify potential opportunities for operational improvements
Own all aspects of process redesign initiatives – from opportunity identification to creation of new processes and implementation
Apply process analysis, improvement, and reengineering methodologies and principles to create a strategy and plan for modernization projects
Develop and execute process redesign implementation plans, leading and coaching business teams through implementation to ensure strong change management
Provide regular updates to leadership on the status of initiatives and quantified savings achieved
What you will bring:
3-5 years of experience with process redesign initiatives, using formal process improvement methodologies
University degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Management, Business Administration, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
3+ years of demonstrated quantitative analysis, data management techniques, data engineering techniques and processes, preferably in insurance
Fundamental knowledge of the project management life cycle and change management principles for planning requirements, design, communication, implementation, and evaluation
Demonstrated ability to apply process analysis, improvement, and reengineering methodologies and principles to identify and implement initiatives to improve operational processes through simplification and automation
Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships, from executives to individual contributors
Strategic mindset with the ability to prioritize business needs and determine the complexity of the process change
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification as a minimum, with commitment to work toward Black Belt certification
Proficient in use of Visio or similar process mapping software applications
Highly proficient in developing solutions with Microsoft Power Platform applications, including Power BI PowerApps, and Flow
