Civil Engineer Co-op
Klohn Crippen Berger’s Vancouver office has a co-op position available for a Civil Engineering student to join our Power and Transportation Group. This position is available for either a 4- or 8-month work term.
This opportunity will allow you to work alongside a talented and diverse group of professionals and grow your engineering skills and experience. Students are assigned to a variety of civil engineering assignments related to design for hydropower, bridge, marine and transportation projects. We strongly emphasize the importance of field experience to our staff, and every effort is made to assign the student to a field related project for part of their posting.
Current projects include: BC Hydro projects including seismic upgrade projects at John Hart Dam, Ladore Spillway and Strathcona Dam, BC Ministry of Transportation highway and bridges, and CN rail track expansions.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
Gain design experience working on large hydro and transportation projects
Develop your skills by completing analyses as available
Contribute to technical reports
Work in a multidisciplinary team environment that fosters learning and career development
Travel within Western Canada, primarily within British Columbia
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of a recognized engineering program
Knowledge of a variety of foundational engineering software and Excel macros
Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
Willingness to travel
Strong English writing and conversational skills
Some French language skills would be an asset
Eagerness to learn good engineering practice

The salary for this position is $24 to $29 per hour. Salary is based on applicable experience, education, and skill level.
