Job Overview:
The Manager, Supplier Quality is responsible for the integration of supplier management programs into the company’s Quality Management system, as well as, developing and implementing programs and standards for the qualification and ongoing assessment of suppliers of ingredients and packing materials maintaining the organization’s supplier quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance of the approved supplier program including maintaining the organization’s supplier quality expectations and developing the standard work for new ingredient or material approval ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
Develop and maintain audit schedule for suppliers based on risk-tiering
Partner with suppliers to improve quality and food safety compliance
Provide cross-functional leadership with QA teams and procurement
Actively live and role model our Leadership competencies by holding self and team (including all direct report ‘people leaders’) accountable for creating a positive work environment and culture through administration of our People Processes and Tools.
Ensure that employees work in compliance with health and safety-related legislation and company’s health and safety program
Ensures food safety and food quality programs and procedures and applicable requirements of the SQF system is fully implemented and are followed at all times
Ensures there is a trained and competent backup on key personnel position
Recipe for Success:
Completion of Bachelor of Science degree
Minimum 8 years in Food Safety and Quality in the food industry in a leadership position
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP)
Proficient with office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams. Ability to run analytics and use database systems to create reports · Strong customer service, interpersonal skills, an approachable demeanor with a strong ability to actively listen
Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills with an effective ability to coach and influence others
Strong knowledge of CFIA/Health Canada/FDA/USDA/GFSI/HACCP Benchmarks, auditing an asset
Ability to manage and communicate sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Excellent ability to focus and prioritize in a fast-moving environment
