Job Overview:
Responsible for ownership of category planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle and the growth of the base business by bringing profitable innovation to the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategy and execution of the company’s long-term plan (LTP) within their specific categories/channels
Develop new product opportunities using a sound business case approach based on market data, focus groups, and other sources on trends in the marketplace
Own the full product development process from strategy to execution – working in conjunction with product development, operations, and other cross-functional teams.
Gain organizational alignment around these strategies and plans, including Sr. Management team and sales
Own, manage and analyze new product costing and creation of product specifications for new products
Prepare and present business reviews and marketing plans for multiple categories
Responsible for developing the next generation of leaders within the department
Set project guidelines and expectations with the report, providing assistance and acting as a resource where applicable
Share category expertise acquired through custom and syndicated research, internet searches and market visits
Create and analyze sales and category reports
Participate in new product sensory tastings and part of the plant trial team and first production runs where required
Create and reviews packaging, label design/copy and artwork
Actively live and role model our Leadership competencies by holding self and team (including all direct report ‘people leaders’) accountable for creating a positive work environment and culture through administration of our People Processes and Tools.
Performance Management: Ensure proper onboarding and development of all staff by completing induction process, coaching and developing capabilities, executing PDP start/mid-year dialogues, and engaging in corrective action when required
Talent & Succession: Ensure job vacancies are filled by completing the required processes and representing the company with integrity throughout the recruitment process
Training: Ensure completion of function compliance training
Engagement: Ensure an engaged workforce through development of sound working relationships and execution of Employee Survey action plans

Recipe for Success:
Completion of a university diploma in Marketing, Business, or a related field
Minimum 7 years’ experience in a Product Marketing role
Requires experience creating marketing and selling materials (brochures, sell sheets, website and social media content, presentations)
Solid understanding of urgency in responding to internal (other departments) and external (suppliers, agencies, customers) partners
Strong working knowledge of MS Office, with a strong understanding of Excel
