Job Overview
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for managing the recruitment strategy for each search, through working with internal and external stakeholders, to retain qualified candidates within the business parameters and cost objectives, using a range of mediums to achieve overall business objectives and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Develop a Recruitment Strategy for each search, which includes sourcing strategy, selection criteria, identification and management of recruitment tools, recruitment procedures and processes, and on-boarding programs
Manage the recruitment process from end to end, to ensure timely fill of roles within budget and expansion of the talent pool for progression within Give & Go
Interview candidates, conduct background checks, create offers, negotiate with candidates, help liaise with onboarding by managing communication between candidate and Hiring Managers
Manage all recruitment software and tools (i.e. LinkedIn, Indeed, other job boards). Build a talent pool and leverage software and tools as a means for building employment branding to attract and retain talent
Evaluate recruitment and selection criteria to ensure conformance to professional standards and provincial legislation, and provide recommendations for changes as necessary
Obtain up to date knowledge regarding work force needs by maintaining contact with line managers
Provide training and support to Human Resources department or hiring managers regarding practices or processes
Perform administrative duties such as maintaining vacancy trackers regarding status/ATS, create reports and dashboards regarding talent acquisition to ensure continued improvement within recruitment activities
Qualifications & Experience
Completion of college or university degree in Human Resources Management or a related field
Minimum of 3 years related to full cycle recruitment for plant operation or other hourly positions up to Manager level, including working in a fast, changing environment
Experience in recruiting technical roles in Skilled Trades and Engineering a strong asset
Excellent analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills with an ability to understand broad Human Resources issues
Leverages strong business acumen and leadership skills to drive a high performing team
Demonstrates strong interpersonal and influencing skills, results driven, high performing, collaborative, shows initiative, proactive, encourages building key relationships
Out of the box thinker, focusing on best practices in recruiting current and active on top of the new recruiting tools, trends and technology.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft products and ATS such as Ceridian-Dayforce (Applicant Tracking System); Super LinkedIn and Indeed user to direct source
Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, applicant tracking systems, LinkedIn and Indeed Sourcing with the ability to create and run reports
