We’re looking for an Accounting Generalist to join our Finance team based in our 8330 Chester St. office in Vancouver, BC. This individual will report to the Director of Accounting and Finance.
Job Overview
The Accounting Generalist is responsible for day-to-day financial operations, performing duties in accordance with standard policies and procedures.
You will have the opportunity to:
Manage and track daily cash deposits of all sales channels; coordinate with banks to resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate with other departments for requests related to sales channels and accounting.
Assist our retail, eCommerce, Group & Fundraising, and Customer Service teams as needed.
Assist with daily bank deposits and mail sorting.
Perform reconciliations of various accounts receivable; assist Intermediate Accountants with multiple bank reconciliations and adjustments.
Process monthly/quarterly tax remittances.
Prepare journal entries and periodic adjustments.
Provide support within the team and across departments.
You will be a good fit if you:
Have post-secondary education in accounting/finance and at least one year of experience in a high-volume environment (manufacturing and/or retail experience is an asset).
Have strong attention to detail and accuracy, and enjoy working with numbers.
Possess great problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze financial data.
Can effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders and departments.
Work well both independently and in a collaborative environment.
Have solid knowledge of accounting and financial processes.
Are well organized and able to prioritize tasks.
Have working knowledge of MS Office; advanced Excel skills are an asset.
