Hexagon Safety, Infrastructure & Geospatial Ottawa, Ontario, Canada (Remote)
YOUR ROLE:
Hexagon’s Safety, Infrastructure and Geospatial division is seeking
an Application Consultant to join its team in Canada. This position is a remote
position and is open to applicants from the Ottawa area to be part of the local
team to support local as well as North American customers.
As an Application Consultant, you will undertake and occasionally lead
activities related to the introduction, design, development, configuration,
installation, and support of Hexagon’s geospatial products. This technical role
encompasses all aspects of software services delivery.
YOUR MISSION:
- Collaborate with the services team to analyze, define, design, develop, and
test geospatial solutions for customers.
- Perform installation, configuration, and end user/administrator training of
Hexagon’s COTS products and solutions.
- Contribute to proposals for customers, supplying technical details of
proposed solutions.
- Lead data modeling, data conversion, and database administration activities.
- Committed to customer satisfaction and delivering quality service.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in geography, geomatics, earth sciences or a related
discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years’ experience with geospatial processes, technologies, and formats.
- 5+ years’ experience as an application or solution consultant in the
geospatial industry.
- Proven technology skills combined with the ability to translate customer
requirements into technical solutions.
- Attention to detail, analytical and creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and build and maintain
positive customer relations.
- Intellectual curiosity and desire for lifelong learning.
- Positive, service-oriented personality.
- Willingness to travel periodically, as needed.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Must be eligible for security clearance in Canada.
TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of geospatial technologies, including GIS, remote sensing, LiDAR,
photogrammetry, 3D/4D visualization and/or digital twin, and how these relate
to industries including defense, transportation, engineering, government and
natural resources
- Working knowledge of geospatial technology in an IT context, including
hardware, storage, networking, security, web services, virtualization, and
cloud computing
- Skills in JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages
- Experience working with geospatial data in relational databases (SQL Server,
PostgreSQL)
- Experience in transforming and exploiting large and diverse geospatial
datasets into end user products and information to drive business decisions
- Proficient in requirements gathering and analysis
- Handles multiple tasks concurrently and prioritizes workload effectively
- Adaptable to changing requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills as it relates to conveying
technical information internally and externally
- Shares knowledge and assists others in the completion of their tasks to
support team goals
