Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) is a national, not-for-profit, shared services organization that supports hundreds of health care providers across Canada, as well as child welfare agencies and other public sector organizations. MMC provides value-driven contracting and procurement solutions for medical/surgical supplies, pharmaceutical products, local sourcing, capital (equipment, FF&E and redevelopment) and nutrition solutions. Other services include data analytics, in-hospital support, warehousing/logistics, technology, procure-to-pay, and accounts payable.

Based in Burlington, ON, MMC operates regional hubs in Toronto, Thunder Bay, Kingston, Brantford and London as well as a hub and distribution centre in Oakville.
We are currently recruiting for a full-time Buyer II to support our Purchasing team. This position is a Hybrid position working Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm.
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
Buyer II reports to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for daily ordering of goods and services for hospital clients, as well as serving as a liaison between vendors and end-users. The role is responsible for processing purchase orders, as well as supporting, performing and managing key functions of Purchase Order Entry, Match Audit and maintaining purchasing related database.
The primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Purchase Orders
Processing of purchase requisitions into purchase orders
Facilitating the approval processes through appropriate workflow
Backorder management
Facilitate return of goods to vendors
Co-ordinate the requisitioning templates for end users
Maintaining Item Master Data
Other duties as assigned
Logistics
Working closely with the Logistics team to support the Just-in-time (JIT) program
Troubleshooting
Resolving order hold or shipment issues with suppliers by working closely with the Accounts Payable Clerks and suppliers
Policy enforcement
Expediting and follow-up of orders
Managing purchase order acknowledgement exceptions and ‘Match Audit’ in liaison with the end- users, Accounts Payable, Receiving, and Suppliers to resolve discrepancies
Qualifications and Skills
College diploma or Certificate in business or related field, or equivalent work experience
2-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a healthcare environment
Familiarity with standard purchasing controls and compliance
CSCMP designation, completed or in progress
Experience in administering terms and conditions of purchase orders and formal contracts
Knowledge of Medical Terminology
Experience with Meditech or other Materials Management interfaces
Experience with Basware or other Accounts Payable interfaces
Demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement
Reliable and focused, with keen interest in contributing significantly to the MMC Purchasing team
Ability to provide a high level of customer service to the end user and work collaboratively with team members
Ability to organize, control and coordinate a variety of activities in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
Previous knowledge and experience in materials provisioning and an understanding of business and legal issues is an asset
Excellent communication and analytical abilities
Mathematical aptitude and proficient PC skills
Adaptable and flexible; willing to take on new responsibilities as assigned
Travel
Ability to travel to Mohawk Medbuy offices if required.
