We are looking for a Senior VFX Artist with a stylized hand drawn feel utilizing
strong Unity experience and solid animation skills for an unannounced project
with a large IP partner. This person will be a key contributor responsible for
crafting visually striking and engaging Visual Effects that enhance the overall
player experience. The Senior VFX artist will collaborate closely with Artists,
Designers, and Engineers to create stunning and dynamic VFX for our games.
This role is a full-time, on-site position based 5 days a week at our Downtown
Vancouver studio.

In this role, you can expect to be involved in:

VFX Artistic Development
-
Creating and implementing a wide range of high-quality VFX in Unity,
including but not limited to: Gameplay Character VFX, Cinematic VFX,
Environment VFX, Combat VFX, Front-end VFX, magic, and more.

Working with the Art and Design teams to ensure VFX alignment with Artistic
vision and Gameplay.

VFX Technical Development

Working with other artists and engineers on the development of shaders and
rendering techniques.

Identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency in the VFX production
process.
To be successful in this role, your background includes:
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- A portfolio demonstrating strong skills in VFX
- Proven experience as a VFX artist in the gaming industry.
- Strong proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Maya, Houdini, Unity,
Unreal, Photoshop, After Effects, Substance Designer, etc. to create VFX.
- Strong understanding of VFX principles, animation, and real-time rendering
techniques.
- Good knowledge of 3D modeling and texturing for VFX.
- Strong knowledge of VFX performance optimization and Rendering & Shader
techniques.
- Strong knowledge of game engines and the technical constraints of real-time
rendering.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a
team environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for visual quality.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of different gaming genres.

The typical hiring range listed above is specific to candidates located in
Vancouver. The salary will be determined based on your knowledge, skills and
competencies, and you’ll have room to grow after you join!
