About the Role:
As the Legal Counsel you will help further develop the legal function at
Zeitview. In this role you will be responsible for providing legal advice and
support to the business primarily through drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a
broad range of customer and vendor contracts, assisting with insurance matters,
and providing strategic legal support to internal business stakeholders. This
role is critical to supporting the company’s operational objectives while
ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements,
including customer contracts, vendor agreements, license agreements,
partnership agreements, NDAs, and professional services agreements.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Procurement, Finance, and other internal
teams to support contracting processes and ensure alignment with business
objectives and risk tolerance.
- Support the management and growth of the company’s insurance portfolio,
including review of Certificates of Insurance (COIs), policy renewals, and
interfacing with insurance brokers.
- Support contract lifecycle management, including maintaining contract
templates, tracking key contract terms, and ensuring timely renewals and
compliance.
- Provide practical, business-oriented legal advice to cross-functional teams
on commercial, insurance, risk, and compliance matters.
- Assist with legal process improvement initiatives and contribute to legal
operations, policy development, and internal training programs.
- Support other legal functions as needed, including privacy, intellectual
property, compliance, and corporate governance.
Qualifications:
- JD or L.L.B from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in at
least one Canadian or U.S. jurisdiction.
- 3–7 years of relevant legal experience.
- Solid experience negotiating and managing commercial agreements in a
fast-paced corporate environment.
- Familiarity with insurance policy administration and coverage types relevant
to technology or services companies.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to
handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to explain complex legal
issues in a clear, actionable manner.
Day-to-Day Tools/Technical Environment:
- Previous experience with Salesforce and Jira is preferred.
- Previous experience working in an in-house environment is an asset.
- Understanding of data privacy and security laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) is an
asset.
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools is a benefit.
