Reporting to the Manager, ESG & Sustainability Reporting, the ESG &
Sustainability Reporting Advisor plays a meaningful role in advancing Teck’s
sustainability reporting and ESG disclosure by integrating analytical and
advisory expertise. This includes project management, content development, data
management, reporting assurance, and research for Teck’s annual Sustainability
Reporting while providing strategic counsel on disclosure improvements.
Key responsibilities include aligning data with external standards, such as
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), International Sustainability Standards Board
(ISSB), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), engaging regularly
with SMEs to collect data, leading the sustainability report assurance process,
and maintaining a continuous improvement plan for reporting.
This position contributes by reporting Teck’s sustainability and ESG performance
to stakeholders, monitoring emerging sustainability trends and best practices,
and providing accurate and timely information to ESG-focused analysts,
investors, communities, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental
rules and procedures
- Manage writing, editing, data collection, and assurance for the
Sustainability Report
- Ensure alignment with external standards, such as GRI and SASB, and
regulations
- Manage the production of the Spanish Sustainability Reporting Suite
- Manage the website update of the Sustainability Reporting content in English
and Spanish
- Lead and train junior staff member in ESG and Sustainability Reporting
- Lead annual data collection and improve data quality of the Sustainability
Report including: coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure
availability of appropriate data collection path, documentation and
improvement of sustainability data flows, and data quality
- Define and maintain reporting boundaries for data and associated KPIs and
targets in the Sustainability Report
- Conduct gap assessments and maintain an improvement plan based on currently
adopted GRI and SASB standards, and others as the need arises
- Advise cross-functional teams on recommendations for areas for improvement in
reporting, ensuring information remains relevant, transparent, and impactful
- Lead the external assurance process for the Sustainability Report
- Review POs and coordinate engagement letters to secure contracts with
external assurance service providers
- Facilitate evidence testing for assured metrics in the Sustainability Report
in collaboration with internal cross-functional teams
- Advise internal cross-functional teams on enhancing data quality and
integrity for the assurance process, based on results from third-party
assurance providers
- Attend site visits when needed
- Develop and maintain appropriate Teck Sustainability Reporting Standard and
Procedure and supporting guidelines
- Develop and maintain reporting processes to reflect changes in business
structure and regulatory requirements, driving continuous improvement and
supporting the company’s strategic goals
- Conduct research and provide input as required on broad sustainability
trends, emerging best practices, and peer comparisons
- Support the Manager, ESG and Sustainability Reporting in the delivery of
projects and tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive working experience in sustainability,
leading projects, demonstrating strong analytical and leadership skills
- Relevant degree or diploma in the area of sustainability, sustainable
finance, environmental sciences or equivalent practical experience
- Validated expertise in sustainability reporting standard methodologies
- Considerable experience with ESG and sustainability reporting standards such
as GRI, SASB and IFRS
- Ability to conduct research and synthesize sophisticated data and findings in
a summary
- Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving skills with the
ability to multitask effectively
- Highly proficient with MS Office Suite or M365
- Results-oriented with outstanding organizational skills and strong attention
to detail
- Excellent communication, planning, report writing, presentation, and public
speaking skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills, with experience
collaborating across cross-functional teams
- Experience in the mining industry is preferred
- Spoken Spanish is an asset but not required

$105,000 - $130,000 a year
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s
relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
