The Systems Verification Engineer will be supporting the development and
execution of key system verification and validation plans as part of the overall
constellation “Integration, Verification and Validation” (IVV) Strategy of the
Telesat LEO constellation Network. In addition, they will coordinate and
participate in the various development activities with the relevant engineering
and integration teams, in preparation of the system verification, for the
different Lightspeed Network segments, for Pre-launch preparationand System
Readiness, as well as post launch Satellite and System level verification
activities.
The System Verification Engineer will report to the Director of Constellation
System Verification.
Role:
The candidate will be working with the different system segment engineering
teams to help developed and plan appropriate system verification strategies and
test philosophies to be executed following Launch of the Lightspeed satellites
that will make up the Lightspeed constellation

Main Responsibilities
- Help develop system and subsystem verification plans, processes, and
procedures in collaboration with different segment teams.
- Support the overall verification approach, including Satellite In-Orbit
Testing (IOT) and Constellation System Acceptance testing.
- Assist in maintaining system verification matrices based on Lightspeed system
requirements.
- Participate in system hardware and software verification activities,
including planning, execution, and documentation.
- Help implement and support networking verification tasks to ensure smooth
communication between segment hardware and software.
- Contribute to building simple tools and scripts that improve testing
efficiency and product quality.
- Take part in design and test reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR, TRR, TRB), offering
feedback to improve designs and ensure alignment with standards.
- Support configuration management and keep verification test data
well-organized and up to date.
- Work with teams to identify and help resolve technical issues found during
testing.
- Assist in developing and applying modern embedded software test methods.
- Help integrate hardware and software components during system-level testing.
- Run and document software feature tests to check if they meet expected
performance and requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to understand
testing needs and contribute to team discussions.
- Maintain clear and organized records of your work and support documentation
efforts for testing processes.
- Communicate effectively with teammates and external partners, both verbally
and in writing.
- Support joint testing efforts with vendors and partners as needed.
- Learn from and contribute to the development of the System Verification team.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience in Aerospace
Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical or RF Engineering, Computer
Engineering, or a related field.
- Good understanding of systems engineering and verification principles.
- Experience in hardware or software development, testing, or verification,
preferably in aerospace, space systems, or telecommunications.
- Strong analytical thinking and a willingness to tackle technical challenges.
- Team-oriented, with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Interest in learning new tools, technologies, and engineering practices.
- Attention to detail and a focus on delivering reliable results and getting
things done.
One or more of the following additional skills and experiences would be
considered as an advantage:
- Familiarity with satellite ground systems or Network system integration.
- Exposure to space programs, satellite systems, or in-orbit testing (IOT).
- Experience with spacecraft Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT), or with
network testing using electrical or RF systems.
Decision making and Supervision:
- This role has no direct reports currently, but will develop further as the
system verification team expands, however, the candidate will work closely
and interact with multi-disciplinary engineering teams

- This role offers hybrid work environment
- Working conditions are generally comfortable typical of an office environment
- Canadian and international travel is required
