& Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated,
forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a AZ Driver Manager for our
Milling division based in Cambridge, ON.
P&H MILLING
P&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources
wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce
quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat
flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes
and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour
for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea
fractions.
From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge,
Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group
supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean,
the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.

YOUR ROLE
The AZ Driver Manager will coordinate and manage the performance of drivers,
ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. This position
involves scheduling, training, and monitoring driver performance to optimize
operations and maintain high service standards.
DAY TO DAY
- Driver Supervision: Oversee daily activities of drivers, ensuring they adhere
to schedules and delivery routes.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze driver performance metrics,
including safety records, fuel efficiency, and on-time delivery rates.
- Training and Development: Provide training and ongoing support to drivers,
ensuring they understand company policies, safety protocols, and customer
service standards.
- Scheduling and Dispatch: Plan and coordinate driver schedules to meet
operational needs while considering driver availability and regulatory
requirements.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all drivers comply with federal, state, and
local transportation laws and regulations, including hours of service and
vehicle maintenance.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to
drivers, deliveries, or customer service.
- Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers and
management, facilitating effective communication and teamwork.
- Safety Promotion: Promote a culture of safety within the driving team,
conducting regular safety meetings and training sessions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional certifications or
training in transportation, logistics, or fleet management are considered an
asset.
- Must possess a valid AZ Driver’s License with 10+ years of driving
experience.
- A current clean driver’s abstract
- Previous experience in driver or fleet management would be considered an
asset
- Experience in tanker operations and heavy haul transportation is a strong
asset.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with a hands-on approach to managing people
and situations.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities,
resolve conflicts, and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Comfortable using transportation management systems (TMS), fleet tracking
software, and other digital tools to monitor performance and logistics.
Experience with Samsara or similar GPS/telematics platforms would be
considered an asset.
