Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented and self-directed Head of
Marketing, Canada to oversee the Canadian Commercial and Public Sector field
marketing team and to help accelerate AWS’ growth. The role will be responsible
for in-country marketing activities including new customer acquisition, customer
engagement, field marketing, and events. This is a unique opportunity to play a
key role in developing an important geography within an exciting, fast-growing
business.
The successful candidate is a marketing leader who has experience building and
leading teams, earns trust through relationship building and has demonstrated a
strong record of delivering results. This role requires the ability to work
through ambiguity in a highly matrixed organization, critically think through
challenges and be a strategic leader, while ensuring that the details are not
missed. The ideal candidate is customer obsessed and thinks holistically about
customer challenges and how to best present AWS solutions. They work
collaboratively with North American (NAMER) and global marketing teams and
leverage customer and business insights from Canadian sales leadership to design
marketing initiatives, account-based marketing plans, measure and report out on
program effectiveness, and use data to make the right pivots in the strategy and
tactics.
Key job responsibilities
• Create compelling, results-driven marketing plans that deliver identified
objectives to the business
• Oversee implementation of the marketing strategy for Canada - including
campaigns, events and digital marketing
• Organize, assist and implement marketing events
• Day-to-day management and development of the Canadian marketing team
• Work closely with the Canadian sales team; enabling them to meet their
commercial and public sector objectives
• Develop and execute customer-driven, locally oriented marketing strategies and
programs that will increase customer demand, sales, and positively impact AWS
brand equity.

15 years of experience in a high-tech, B2B sales-facing marketing role such as
corporate or field marketing
- Minimum 5 years of enterprise marketing and team leadership experience
- Excellent writing and analytical skills
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
- Fluency in French preferred
- A career trajectory that demonstrates increasing levels of responsibility and
proven success delivering measurable marketing results
- Account-based marketing expertise
- Partner marketing experience (this role will have matrixed responsibility for
Partner Marketing)
- Understanding of and experience in the cloud and B2B landscape in Canada
- Experience working in a large and highly matrixed organization
