About the role:
Reporting to the Director, Risk, Assurance and Advisory, the primary
responsibility of the Senior Lead, Risk Management is to lead the
identification, assessment and mitigation of risks across EVR. This role
involves working collaboratively with operations and support functions to
develop and implement proactive risk management strategies, policies and
procedures in line with legislative and regulatory requirements and best
practices. They will also coordinate a system for management of claims and
insurance policy matters across EVR.
The Senior Lead will gain exposure across EVR’s operations and supporting
business functions, as we work to drive and promote positive change and
improvements with respect to risk management through our actionable insights as
well as through the implementation of a new risk management platform.

independently, influence and work effectively alongside diverse stakeholders,
both internal and external, of varying levels to achieve positive outcomes that
are consistent with our strategic direction. Strong communication,

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Assist in the development and implementation of EVR-specific risk management
framework, standards and procedures while ensuring they are in line with the
Glencore risk management framework
- Periodically update EVR framework, standard and procedures documentation,
evaluate any gaps and provide recommendations
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external
stakeholders, including executives, senior management, regulators, service
providers, and external auditors, to provide insights into EVR’s risk profile
and the effectiveness of risk management efforts
- Develop and administer annual training and/or risk updates to control owners
and other various stakeholders
- Host risk workshops with various business units throughout EVR to facilitate
the identification and assessment of potential risks that EVR faces,
including internal and external factors that could lead to adverse events,
such as financial losses, operational disruptions, regulatory compliance
issues, cybersecurity threats, and more
- Develop an annual plan and risk calendar to facilitate updates required for
corporate risk registers
- Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained and critical controls are in place
based on the established risk tolerance levels and requirements
- Lead or supervise risk projects to guide key business initiatives to
understand and enhance the changes to the risk environment, along with ways
to mitigate such risk
- Ensure that EVR remains compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and
industry standards effectively, including reviewing any new major contractors
or internal business projects from a risk and insurance perspective
- Continually evolve and modernize EVR’s ERM and fraud prevention processes &
procedures in methodology and function
- Conduct or assist in policy and compliance audits, which will include
liaising with internal and external auditors
- Manage and maintain records for EVR insurance: directors’ and officers’
liability; fiduciary liability; ERISA, wrap up liability, automobile
liability, aviation, casualty, marine, property program, transportation
corridor, transportation cargo, property and business interruption; equipment
breakdown; commercial general liability; and umbrella liability
- Assist in the selection, planning and implementation of a new ERM system as
well as developing and administering the training to risk owners
- Prepare quarterly and annual risk reports for review by the Director, Risk,
Assurance & Advisory, which will be presented and distributed to Glencore
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields is preferable: risk
management, management or business, finance or economics, science,
statistics, engineering or law
- Preference given to candidates with experience in large mining operations or
complex manufacturing organizations
- In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies and best
practices
- CRM (Canadian Risk Management) designation or equivalent risk experience
- Ability to understand EVR’s IT landscape and the governance, risk, and
controls best practices is beneficial
- Experience with enterprise risk management systems such as MetricStream,
LogicGate, Isometrix, etc. is preferred
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s
relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
