Your opportunity at Arc’teryx:
As a Raw Materials Supply Planner 2, you will play a key role in the supply
planning of raw materials for the production of finished goods. Your
responsibilities will encompass negotiating and strategizing supplier capacity
and material prices, forecasting for production, and generating and monitoring
KPI reports. Working with a portfolio of raw materials manufacturers, you will
ensure their production forecasts align optimally with our demand and finished
goods supplier base. Internally, collaboration with Raw Materials Sourcing,
Development, Quality, Finished Goods Supply Planning, and Global Planning teams
will be essential to meet supply and delivery targets. In addition, you will
also play a key project and advisory role in strategic cross-functional
projects, not limited to Sales & Operations Planning processes, new product
commercialization and the development of new planning tools and systems.
Please note, this is a temporary role with a duration of twelve (12) months.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid
remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
Meet your future team:
We are a highly dynamic and collaborative team of Raw Materials Supply Planners,
each responsible for managing a portfolio of overseas manufacturers. The team
collaborates closely on departmental deadlines and engages in
process-improvement projects. We align our individual portfolio work to present
as a cohesive team in planning, monitoring key performance indicators, and
resolving supply issues. Each Raw Materials Supply Planner maintains excellent
knowledge of the unique manufacturing constraints of their portfolio. They act
as subject-matter experts in their material categories, providing valuable
insights to both cross-functional teams and management.

If you were in the Raw Materials Supply Planner 2 role now, here are some of the
core activities you would be doing:
- Staying abreast with economic and political events insofar they affect your
manufacturer portfolio and developing an excellent understanding of the
supply chain for the raw materials you plan
- Monitoring the raw material development process to determine if
commercialization timelines can be met
- Managing relationships with manufacturers with a sense of urgency in a
professional and courteous manner. Ensuring optimal supplier performance
(growth, on-time delivery, communication, and flexibility) with a focus on
long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships
- Working with the Raw Material Sourcing team to negotiate, set and ensure
compliance on purchasing terms and pricing conditions based on forecast
volume and market changes
- Directing a rolling raw material forecast schedule and any exceptional
cross-functional decisions and/or commitments related to supplier MOQ, MCQ,
and Lead Times
- Monitoring Supplier Order Confirmation Performance, Supplier Delivery
Performance, and Supplier Lead Time Performance. Analyzing the root cause of
issues and recommending improvements
- Accounting for excess raw materials at season-end, providing accurate
financial projections and settling invoices with due diligence
- Conducting quarterly to seasonal supplier performance reviews, providing
feedback to suppliers and Sourcing teams for improvement
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles
of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
- Actively identifying opportunities to improve and evolve RM Supply Planning
team operations, processes and reporting
- Supporting the RM Supply Planning team in maintaining supply chain best
practices, data hygiene and executing standard operating procedures training
- Contributing to cross-functional projects, in an advisory and project/product
management capacity, such as Sales & Operations planning processes, new
product commercialization and the development of new planning tools and
systems
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Collaborating with the Raw Material Sourcing team to develop long-term raw
material category capacity plans at new and existing overseas contract
manufacturers
- Engaging in the monthly Sales and Operations Planning process to report
portfolio key performance indicators and to communicate supply opportunities
or risks
- Contributing to the optimization of the GTM (Go To Market) process, working
closely with cross-functional partners to support improvement and deadline
discipline
- Seeking process efficiencies, cost savings and sustainability best practices
for the brand, in collaboration with internal teams and external partners
- Developing new enterprise-wide planning tools and systems, by identifying
minimum system requirements, evaluating options and training RM Supply
Planning team members in its use
Are you our next Raw Materials Supply Planner 2?
- You have 3+ years' experience in Supply Planning, Purchasing or an equivalent
Supply Chain position, preferably in the apparel or consumer goods industry
- You hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Operations,
or Supply Chain and/or APICS certification
- You have knowledge of sourcing practices, vendor management, supply chain
management, inventory management, global distribution network planning and
project management practices
- You are a proficient user of Excel and have ERP experience (in SAP is a plus)
- You have excellent English written and spoken communication skills
- You have advanced analytical skills, understanding possible operational and
financial impacts
- You have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and
exceptional multitasking skills
- You have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a people-facing
role
- You are not deterred by ambiguity and frequent changes in the world of supply
chain
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing
solutions
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with competing priorities

$82,000 - $112,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$82,000 - CAD$112,000 at the time
of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such
as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training. The upper
end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated
expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly
transferable experience.

include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
