Reporting to the Manager of Platform Engineering, you will be focused on
delivery of DevSecOps services in an Agile DevOps environment. The focus will be
on the delivery, availability, reliability and operational efficiency of the
automated development environments and corresponding infrastructure. The goal
is improved developer experience and improved software delivery velocity. This
position will support all non-Enterprise tooling across Telesat and related
Lightspeed infrastructure including, manage SaaS applications, migrations,
upgrades, patching and Telesat integration requirements for access and
authorization.

Main Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the tooling infrastructure across Telesat.
- Provide support and backup to the Cloud Architect.
- Provide detailed L3 support for the applications and tooling.
- Perform customizations to tooling as required by the business.
- Work with the Infrastructure, Cloud and Cyber Architects to properly migrate
and build new environments (both on-prem, in-cloud and SaaS) for all tools,
applications and service offerings relating to technical engineering groups.
- Help build/maintain/debug CI/CD pipelines
- Integration of SSO capabilities within the scope of the Corporate IAM model.
- Work and regularly engage with tools vendors to understand upgrades, roadmaps
and ongoing issues.
- Perform regular updates and patches as required to the tools and related
infrastructure.
- Ensure proper user access is established and security maintained within the
tools.
- Establish rules and operations manuals for backups, recovery and DR.
- Day-to-day operational support.
Education & Experience Required
- A Diploma or Degree in a relevant area of study with a preference for
Computer Science together with demonstrated operational network-related
experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in supporting Development teams in an Engineering
environment building/maintaining/debugging CI/CD pipelines
- Industry certifications in Azure, Agile and/or Cybersecurity are an asset.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience in scripting to perform automation tasks.
- Experience in the administration of computer systems such as systems
administrator in an operations role.
- Experience in supporting DevOps and Engineering tools- Jira, Confluence,
GitLab, JFrog Artifactory/XRay/Connect, Jama Connect
- Strong understanding and hands on experience in operations and management of
public cloud-computing environments like GCP, AWS and Azure.
- Strong understanding and hands on experience in the administration of Linux.
- Understanding of DevOps concepts and toolchains
- Experience developing/maintaining/debugging CI/CD pipelines, especially in
GitLab.
- Familiarity with SRE concepts considered an asset.
- Understanding of microservices and containerization.
Decision Making & Supervision
- In this role, the incumbent will have significant influence on decisions
towards application selection, licensing and infrastructure implementation.
- The incumbent will rely on their experience to make decisions on the
operations, customization and tuning of environments and services.
- This role has no direct reports but will work and interact with
multi-disciplinary engineering and IT teams.

- Moderate visual concentration in use of video display terminal.
- Appropriate security clearances required.
- Off-hours, weekend and holiday support may be required for systems
maintenance and outage-related emergencies
- Participation in group pager rotation (‘on call’) for production systems will
