We’ve been named in GP Bullhound’s 2024 Top 100 Next Unicorn list, we’ve earned Flexa’s stamp as a truly flexible workplace, and we proudly hold Great Place to Work certification in both the USA and UK. As a fully remote, global company, we’re rewriting the rules of how modern businesses operate.
And we’re just getting started! We are growing fast and on a mission to find the very best talent in the world. If you’re ready to bring your bold ideas to a fast-paced, dynamic team, keep reading – this role could be the one you’ve been waiting for.
As a Senior Technical Writer at Camunda, you’ll be embedded within product teams, taking full ownership of documentation for key areas of our platform. You’ll work side-by-side with engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure our documentation is clear, accurate, and deeply aligned with the product experience. This is a hands-on role supporting our AI products team, where you’ll become a subject matter expert, directly shaping the developer journey through high-impact content around agentic orchestration. You’ll be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on helping developers quickly and joyfully become productive with Camunda technologies.
What you'll be doing:
Own and drive the documentation for one or more product areas, acting as the embedded technical writer within the corresponding product teams.
Work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to stay deeply informed about the product roadmap and ensure documentation is accurate, timely, and aligned with feature development.
Become a subject matter expert in your assigned product areas, developing hands-on experience with the products to create documentation that reflects real-world usage and developer needs.
Lead documentation efforts from concept through release—planning, writing, reviewing, and maintaining content that empowers developers to succeed with Camunda technologies.
Advocate for documentation as a critical part of the user experience, bringing the user’s perspective into product discussions and influencing design and implementation where appropriate.
Continuously improve the structure, clarity, and completeness of the documentation based on analytics, user feedback, and your own insights.
Collaborate with other writers and the broader Documentation team to share best practices, contribute to team goals, and evolve our documentation tooling and standards.
What you bring:
5+ years of technical writing experience (including senior or equivalent) and a strong portfolio of developer-focused content such as user guides, installation guides, API references, tutorials, and technical blog posts.
Hands-on expertise with Java, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and related technologies, and a proven ability to deeply understand and use complex technical products (ideally with Camunda 8 or similar products).
Experience with writing about AI concepts, including a good understanding of large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), model context Protocol (MCP), and other emerging AI technologies (for example, agentic orchestration).
Proven ability to tailor content for diverse audiences and technical backgrounds, including software engineers, application developers, business analysts, and process owners.
Experience with Docs-as-Code workflows and documentation frameworks such as Docusaurus, with comfort using Git and Markdown in a developer-centric environment.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience and an interest in using and writing about AI and related technologies/concepts.
Comfortable iterating on an existing technical writing style guide, advocating for its use cross-functionally
Experience transitioning from engineers as primary documentation authors to technical writers as primary documentation authors
