What You’ll Do:
- Supervises, coaches, mentors, and trains direct report staff. Provides
continuous performance management and conducts employee performance
evaluations in consultation with Human Resources. Addresses performance
and/or behavior issues, clarifying expectations and providing feedback.
- Supports staff growth and development. Assesses the educational and
experience needs of all levels of staff in collaboration with the individual.
Encourages staff to seek educational opportunities incorporating job related
training in addition to mandatory training.
- Participates in the recruitment and selection of staff. Provides orientation
to outline job requirements and expectations, policies and procedures, and
proper use of tools and equipment.
- Creates and maintains an inclusive work environment that respects diverse
ideas, backgrounds, and styles. Supports diversity through the selection,
management, and retention of diverse employees. Creates, drives, and
maintains an employee engagement culture.
- Creates a culture where information sharing, team-based resolutions,
cross-training, and process improvements are encouraged, and staff are held
accountable for goal achievement and results.
- Analyzes corporate objectives and customer needs to provide direction, and
clearly aligned productivity and quality goals for the team. Communicates
goals and monitors progress.
- Communicates regularly with the team, department, and organization, to
provide information and input on goals, priorities, projects, and plans.
Ensures that information from Operations and organization leadership is
shared with the team in a timely manner.
- Serves as a key member of the program integrated leadership team with
responsibility to ensure high quality customer service, support, continual
improvement processes, and a commitment to foster growth and development of
the BHS department/organization.
- Collaborates with organization leaders and external/system partners to
develop the BHS programs. Provides leadership and oversight related to
contract negotiation, program evaluation, optimization, implementation,
support, change management, and service level management.
- Establishes and enforces priorities, standards, licensing requirement, and
operational/support procedures. Enforces organizational policies and
procedures.
- Ensures the implementation and maintenance of standards, policies,
procedures, and control techniques.
- Designs, implements, and manages ongoing projects. Develops project plans,
defining scope, deliverables, and resources needed in order to meet project
goals and deadlines. Actively moves projects, tasks, and assignments forward.
- Develops an annual fiscal year and capital equipment budget forecast. Manages
the budget and reports variances for all controllable budget line items to
the Behavioral Health Clinic Director.
- Develops and maintains key performance indicators, critical success factors,
and metrics to monitor various programs and assesses results and performance
on a monthly basis and makes recommendations for improvements. Identifies
trends and considers impacts to pro-actively sustain programs and resource
availability.
- Participates in local, state, and federal efforts to improve service delivery
and program effectiveness. Provides updates on program performance and
prepares reports for Grantors, and BHS leadership.
- Develops and maintains necessary ties and or networks with the prevailing
communities for the purpose of promoting the mission of YVFWC. Works with
community partners to meet needs of BHS Clients.
- Participates in all organizational planning and process improvement
activities as required by the BHS leadership. Establishes goals for improving
quality of services provided. Leads and manages quality improvement and
customer satisfaction activities to improve delivery of services. Evaluates,
documents, and communicates quality improvement outcomes. Provides updates to
staff regarding quality improvement issues.
- Provides clinical review of records and analysis of adherence to grant and
program requirements, objectives and goals. Provides updates of results to
BHS leadership and internal management. Responds to questions regarding grant
and program compliance to external sources, including State and Agency
contacts.
- Consults with experts and conducts research to ensure services and
programming remain current and reflect best practices.
- Initiates contact with managed care companies and/or DCYF to secure
authorization for services.
- Acts as a consultant regarding case conceptualization, payment, and coding
issues for the Billing department.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related degree.
- Four years’ experience working with individuals with mental health and/or
behavior disorders, including two years’ experience supervising staff.
- Supervisory experience in a social service setting is preferred.
- Direct service experience with children, youth and families in a behavioral
health setting in preferred.
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Social Worker.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within 45 days of hire.
- Right Response Elements Certification obtained within one year's employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. This position is not eligible for
bilingual differential pay. Knowledge of advanced evaluative techniques of
personality, academic, behavioral, and cognitive domains. Knowledge of child
welfare regulations and practices. Knowledge in the field of substance abuse
and special education. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis. Knowledge in
the field of special education. Knowledge of the most current DSM and service
related RCWs and WACs. Knowledge of culturally relevant resources. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Effective presentation skills with
groups of all sizes. Advanced conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
