CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeymen certificate
Red Seal certification is considered an asset
Can complete a CVIP inspection
4-6 years’ experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, preferably with semi-truck and trailer experience (hydraulic repairs and diesel engine repair)
Class 5 License with a clean drivers’ abstract
Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
Must have basic tools
Current and up to date first-aid and H2S alive safety certificates is an asset
A valid class 1 or 3 drivers’ license is considered an asset
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections, on heavy truck and trailer equipment, in the shop and in the field.
Engine
Drive Train
Wiring and light problems,
Electrical diagnostics,
Air system,
Wheels,
Brakes,
Clutches
and steering components etc.
Complete required documentation and reporting for inspections and repairs
Prepare work orders/cost estimates for service approval
Conduct all job responsibilities in accordance with Vertex HSE standards, guidelines, and rules
