Job DescriptionThe CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.As Protection and Control (P&C) Engineer, you will be working with a team of P&C detailed designers and contribute to large-scale electrical energy projects. You will evolve in a multidisciplinary environment and develop skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on substation, hydroelectric power station, and renewable energy projects, with numerous clients across Canada. This is a hybrid role that can be based out of one our offices in British Columbia (Vancouver, Kelowna, or Rossland).Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign and review the protection and control drawings of substation systems and power systemsApprove project deliverables, including detail drawings, electrical diagrams, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.Collaborate with members of the engineering team as well as project managers from other disciplinesPrepare plans, drawings and calculations based on specifications providedResponsible of the development of electrical Command and Protection systems, including single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, three-line AC diagrams, protection and c.c. control diagrams, wiring drawings, device connection drawings, assembly plans, material lists and quotes for the manufacturing and installation on site of Control and Protection panelsSupervise the development of AC and DC station service power systems, including single-line diagrams, AC & DC load calculations, AC & DC distribution diagrams, connection drawings of chargers, batteries, inverter, etc.Participate in site surveys (stations and power stations)Coordinate with engineering disciplines: equipment, civil, mechanical and building in order to develop design solutions for optimized and advanced substation and power plant systemsPossibility of carrying out site work sporadically when the opportunity arises (start-up or monitoring)Perform QA/QC of the electrical engineering design packagesAttending in the review meetings and updating the work package based on client`s commentsSupport commissioning and field engineeringQualificationsUniversity Degree in Electrical engineeringRegistered (or eligible to register as) member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EBGC) or that of a recognized Professional Engineering Association in Canada. P.Eng Preferred6+ years of experience working on P&C projectsGood knowledge of protection and control principles and philosophies is mandatoryWork experience in the design of electrical systems3+ years experience in detailed P&C design with major and/or local utilities in CanadaFluent in English (oral and written)Basic knowledge of the office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)Autonomous, resourceful, and enjoys teamworkThe expected salary for this position is from $90 000 to $120 000 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity.
