Job Summary: Ontario Tech University is recruiting candidates to fill the casual, part-time position of Exam Invigilator in the Office of Student Life. Reporting to the Manager, Test Centre and Integrated Services, the incumbent is responsible for providing Test Centre support and proctoring exams. The role ensures that students registered with Student Accessibility Services receive their approved accommodations during examinations.
Responsibilities/accountabilities:
Check students in and verify ID’s
Monitor university students while they are writing examinations and tests
Assist with opening/setting up and closing/cleaning up of testing rooms
Be aware of exam anomalies, and report incidences using university and Student Accessibility Services (SAS) procedures
Answer student queries while remaining non-partisan and professional
File both prepared and completed exams with precision according to Test Centre protocols
Enforce Test Centre protocol - secure exam files, complete appropriate paperwork during each shift, maintain Test Centre security, and uphold high level of confidentiality
Ensure academic integrity is maintained throughout all exam activities.
Required Skills:
Understanding of legislative requirements in the area of human rights and accessibility
Good judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills
Superior organizational skills
Ability to work effectively individually and within a team environment
Computer word processing and data base skills
Collaborate and communicate effectively in writing and orally
Proven ability to carry out detailed procedures
Proven ability to multi task and works well under pressure with strict deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, problem solve and exercise sound judgment
Ability to travel to and work out of two locations
Required Education:
Completion of post-secondary school program (college diploma or university degree)
- Verification of Academic credentials may be required
Required Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience working in an accommodated Test Centre (preferred)
Minimum 1 year of customer service experience (preferred)
