About the Role
As a Housing
Support Worker, you will be responsible for:
Youth Support & Engagement:
Welcome and build trusting relationships with youth through
compassionate, non-judgmental, trauma-informed support.
Crisis Intervention & Case Management: Respond to crisis
situations
calmly and confidently with de-escalation techniques and appropriate intervention strategies.
Operational Support: Support daily operations including reception and thorough documentation (e.g., shift change notes, safety plans, care plans incident reports),
Teamwork & Collaboration: Work closely with youth to address goals, safety, and care plans.
What You Bring
Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Social Services or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training will be considered. Current First Aid and CPR Certification is required.
Experience: 3+ years of experience supporting youth or marginalized populations in high-needs settings.
Lived & Professional Experience: Lived experience as a 2SLGBTQIA+ individual and experience working with marginalized populations, especially within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
Knowledge Base: Housing First for Youth model, harm reduction models, Toronto Shelter Standards, and SMIS. Familiarity with TREAT is considered an asset.

Demonstrated through strong communication skills, cultural awareness, and the ability to navigate diverse environments while promoting fairness and inclusive practices.
