Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. The Senior Advisor, Resource Optimization serves as a lead to the data provisioning function and will be responsible for automating current manual reporting processes, creating real-time capabilities and maintaining an accurate repository of all employee data, including the contingent workforce.
What will I be doing?
Oversees the development and monitoring of workforce planning metrics.
Develops and provides resourcing reports and dashboards to identify issues, risks and deviations from workforce baselines.
Conducts analysis using data gathered from technology systems to integrate and streamline data from multiple data sources and automate data refreshes and eliminate manual reporting to create “real-time” capabilities.
Establishes and enforces data quality checks, validation rules, and audit procedures to ensure accurate and reliable workforce data, including contingent labor to reinforce data governance.
Leads oversight of workforce management software(s) and solutions; designs and manages the development, implementation, and performance of workforce resourcing reporting for the assigned divisions(s).
Collaborates with internal staff and with stakeholders across assigned division(s) to develop quality control mechanisms and key metrics by providing expertise and advice to assist in identifying appropriate measures and tools that meet business needs with respect to workforce planning.
Collaborates with wider workforce planning team to understand and identify allocated client division(s) resourcing trends, leveraging analytics tools and techniques to forecast and predict staffing needs and model workforce scenarios
Conducts analyses and provides recommendations to the Senior Manager on resourcing models and productivity improvements.
Responsible for monitoring the performance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) associated with workforce planning
Conducts in-depth analyses to identify opportunities for productivity gains, cost optimization, and process improvements, using data-driven methods to make evidence-based recommendations to the leadership team.
Accountable for personal workload while coordinating day-to-day activities of less experienced workforce planning staff without formal supervisory authority.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
University degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Human Resources, Data Sciences or a related field, or specialized technical certification, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
Demonstrated years' of progressively responsible experience in development of key performance metrics and management reporting. Hands-on experience with ETL processes and integrating data from multiple systems.
Progressive experience in workforce planning, resource optimization, data analytics, or related functions.
Power BI Data Analyst, Microsoft Power Platform, SQL Development, or ETL/Alteryx certifications are strong assets.
Proficient in Power Automate, ETL processes or scripting languages, Azure Platform.
Ability to establish and enforce data quality checks, validation rules, and audit procedures to ensure accurate and reliable workforce data, including contingent labour to reinforce data governance.
Knowledge of the development of performance metrics, quality control theory and practice to conduct quality control reviews. Adept analytical skills to collect, analyze, and assess critical business intelligence and performance data with attention to detail.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think and react quickly and appropriately
Strong stakeholder relationship-building skills.
Presentation skills (oral / written) to develop and present briefings using various tools (e.g. dashboards, PowerPoint, etc.).
