Job Purpose: The National Volunteer Support plays a key role in supporting Islamic Relief Canada’s (IRC) Volunteer Management Team in strengthening our national volunteer network through infrastructure, engagement, and community building. This part-time role offers flexible hours and is well-suited for students seeking hands-on experience in the nonprofit sector while contributing to meaningful impact. The primary focus of this role is to support and coordinate 25+ student-led IRC Clubs across Canada. From onboarding new clubs and leading national engagement efforts to facilitating collaboration and resource development, this role ensures that student leaders are empowered, connected, and equipped to lead with impact on their campuses. In addition to IRC Clubs, the Volunteer Coordinator will also support broader volunteer engagement across the organization, including national campaigns, onboarding, appreciation, and retention initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to contribute ideas and bring new initiatives to life. We are looking for someone who brings creativity, initiative, and a passion for community engagement to help enhance the volunteer experience at IRC. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: IRC Clubs Support Lead the National IR Clubs Advisory Team, providing guidance, support, and facilitation throughout the year. Host monthly presidential meetings to strengthen national collaboration, share updates, and gather feedback from club leaders. Assist with onboarding new IRC Clubs, ensuring they receive the necessary training, resources, and support to launch effectively. Act as a liaison between IRC staff and IRC Clubs, helping bridge communication and align priorities. Identify gaps and areas for growth within the IRC Clubs portfolio, and assist in the development of new initiatives, tools, or resources to enhance club engagement. Assist in maintaining the IR Club Toolkit and Asana board to ensure clubs have access to relevant and updated resources. National Volunteer Support Support the Volunteer Management Team with the planning and coordination of national volunteer campaigns, including domestic programming and fundraising initiatives. Assist with post-engagement efforts for Inspire and other national programs to strengthen volunteer retention and connection. Contribute to national engagement and appreciation efforts, ensuring volunteers feel valued and connected year-round. Support onboarding processes, respond to volunteer inquiries, and help maintain accurate volunteer records and data systems. Qualifications & Competencies Exceptional verbal/written communication skills. Ability to work within strict deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong active listening, critical thinking, time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills. Enjoys administrative work and pays close attention to detail.
