Job Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Key Account Manager to lead and grow strategic relationships within the food service and ingredients sector. This role is responsible for managing high-value accounts, identifying growth opportunities, and delivering tailored solutions that meet customer needs. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the food industry, excellent relationship-building skills, and a proven track record in B2B sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for key food service and ingredient accounts.
Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and stakeholders.
Understand client needs and provide customized product and service solutions.
Develop and execute account plans to achieve sales targets and margin goals.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
Collaborate with R&D and operations teams to support product development and innovation.
Negotiation & Contracts
Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and service agreements.
Ensure compliance with company policies and customer expectations.
Market Intelligence
Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
Provide insights to internal teams to support strategic planning and product positioning.
Collaboration & Reporting
Work cross-functionally with marketing, logistics, operations and finance to ensure seamless customer service.
Maintain accurate records in CRM systems and provide regular sales forecasts and reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Science, Marketing, or related field.
5+ years of experience in key account management or B2B sales, preferably in food service or ingredients.
Strong understanding of the food manufacturing and distribution landscape.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in CRM tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with national food service chains, distributors, brokers or industrial food manufacturers.
