Minimum Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree in related discipline Member of CAPL with strong industry and regulatory connections 10 years of experience in various tenure regimes Oil Sands tenure experience considered an asset Specific knowledge of applicable mineral related contractual, legislative and regulatory requirements necessary to support all of Suncor’s acquisition and operational activities Knowledgeable of CAPL OP Procedure/PASC and their primary functionality Knowledge of Joint Venture contracts and corresponding processes Broad understanding of G&G, Engineering, Drilling & Completion, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Environmental, Legal and Joint Ventures aspects of the oil & gas industry Basic operational knowledge and it’s connection with mineral tenure Knowledge of economic methodology and processes. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Strong project management, problem solving and organizational skills Proven ability to lead multiple and changing priorities under tight deadlines Efficient computer skills using land, mapping and GIS related programs Responsibilities: Collaborate with asset teams to on required mineral activities to support business objectives Liaison with external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, industry associations, partners and competitors to fulfill all mineral requirements and ensure corporate reputation is maintained or enhanced Liaison with internal departments to ensure Mineral Land’s role in multiple corporate objectives is represented and incorporated Maintain timely knowledge of pertinent regulation changes and their affect on the business Analyze industry and regulatory activities and identify innovative methods to support operations Apply decision making skills and business savvy to unique situations often within limited timelines Act as a trusted advisor to customer/business partners on all mineral related issues Support the identification of new opportunities and identify strategies to generate cost reduction Act as joint venture representative where applicable; stewarding and monitoring existing JV arrangements Location and other Key Details: This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
