As a Customer Service Representative/Sales Support, you will play a crucial role
in supporting the sales operations by managing quotes, processing orders, and
maintaining strong relationships with customers. This position focuses on sales
support and internal coordination, ensuring smooth communication between
customers, production, logistics, and sales teams. You will handle inquiries,
prepare quotes for smaller projects, and assist with project coordination in a
fast-paced steel fabrication environment.

THE LOCATION
- The office is located in Brampton, ON
- Work is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break
from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
- This position requires full-time, in-office attendance at the Brampton office
THE PRODUCT/SERVICE
- Steel products and fabrication services tailored to construction and
industrial projects
- Comprehensive project coordination and sales support within the steel
industry
- Expertise in steel grades, plate processing, and interpreting technical
drawings
- Integrated customer service managing quotes, orders, production planning, and
logistics coordination
PRODUCT & SALES CYCLE
- Orders primarily involve steel products with varying complexity and size,
depending on customer needs
- The sales cycle is largely driven by project timelines and can range from
quick turnaround quotes to large projects requiring several weeks to months
for completion
- Typical sales cycle for routine orders is shorter, while major project quotes
and approvals can extend the cycle significantly
- Customer service representatives support the conversion of quotes into orders
and manage ongoing communication throughout the sales process to ensure
timely delivery and customer satisfaction
TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email, providing timely and
accurate information
- Prepare and send quotes for smaller projects, ensuring pricing and details
are correct
- Process incoming orders and enter them into the ERP system
- Coordinate with production, logistics, and sales teams to ensure order
accuracy and timely delivery
- Track order status and proactively communicate updates or delays to customers
- Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications as needed for
quotes and orders
- Resolve customer issues or escalate them to the appropriate team member
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotes, and orders
- Support project coordination for larger or more complex orders
- Participate in daily team meetings and collaborate on process improvements

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
- 3-7 years of experience in customer service, inside sales, sales support, or
project coordination within the steel fabrication, steel center, or heavy
industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of steel grades, plate processing, and the ability to read
and interpret CAD drawings
- Experience working with ERP systems and coordinating with production,
logistics, and sales teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to
build and maintain customer relationships
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under
pressure
EDUCATION
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Proficient with ERP systems relevant to steel fabrication and logistics
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and technical documents
- Strong computer skills with multitasking capability
- MS Excel for data entry and quote preparation
- MS Word for correspondence and documentation
- Effective use of email and online communication tools
- Familiarity with online screen sharing and virtual meeting platforms
