Job Description
Sodexo is growing! We are looking for a Sous Chef to join our dynamic hotel team. This position is a full-time role. You will be offered a great team environment, work/life balance and the ability to cook healthy and appealing menus for consumers.
Assist the Executive Chef and team to successfully coordinate and lead all retail food and services.
Prepare meals following standardized recipes and according to departmental policies and procedures for all guests
Prepare and serve meals with attractive and high-quality preparation
Work within a set budget to reduce waste, improve production, safety, and sanitation in the Food Services Department
Participate in menu planning and costing
Estimate quantities and order supplies of food to meet menu requirements
Work with Cooks and chefs in areas of baking, salads, soups, etc.
Assist in the training of new cooks (as per direction of the Executive Chef)
Complete all HACCP and Safety related documentation provided by management
Set an example to other staff by practicing Food Safety and Physical Standards of Sodexo
Be knowledgeable of and practice in all relevant departmental and facility policies and
Qualifications
Formal culinary education or equivalent education/experience, Red Seal or equivelent required.
2-5-year related experience in a food service environment; high volume line cooking as well as High volume catering experience
Familiar with HACCP and SDS system/willing to receive training
Food Safety and Physical Safety
Maintain highest sanitation standards
Perform effectively under pressure and meet Sodexo standards while leading a team
Planning, organizing and effective time management skills
Ability to work in a dynamic management team
Effective oral and written communication skills are needed
MS Office essential
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to anticipate and solve problems
Be knowledgeable of and practice all relevant departmental policies
