Position Title: Business Project Manager - Individual Project Management
Reports To: Director, Individual Portfolio Management
Department: Individual Project Management
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

Reporting to the Portfolio Director, the Project Manager’s role is to plan and coordinate the implementation of solutions that deliver to business strategic objectives. This individual will partner with the Individual Leadership Team (ILT) to identify, plan and execute solutions that will support the achievement of annual business plans. This position acts as a liaison between ILT, Business Stakeholders, technical delivery teams and external vendors to effectively plan, resource and deliver key divisional strategic initiatives.

What you will be doing:
Build strong working relationships with project decision makers, managers, and cross functional team members
Engage business stakeholders in the project process; ensuring business deliverables are defined and formalized into a project plan; coordinating business deliverables and timelines with Product Owners and Technology Managers to ensure effective and efficient delivery of key initiatives on time, within scope and within budget
Facilitate meetings and resolve conflicts between various groups to enable progress on project and/or process initiatives
Prepare feasibility studies and cost benefit analysis.
Provide guidance to ILT members on the feasibility studies and cost benefit analysis being prepared by them
Regular reporting to the Individual division business leaders on the progress of key initiatives
What you will bring:
University Degree – Minimum Bachelors degree
Obtained, or working towards PMP certification
Experience in Agile, Lean Methodologies is an asset
Minimum of 1-3 years industry experience with good understanding of insurance products and systems
Good relationship skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization
Ability to think strategically
Strong negotiation and influencing skills
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Project management and project planning experience – with understanding of current project management methodologies
Strong understanding of process and process improvement methodology
Superb organizational skills
Experience in Conflict Management
