Convergint is looking for a full-time, team-oriented, results-driven
Journeyperson Plumber (with Boiler-experience) to join our amazing Calgary team.
As a Journeyperson Plumber, you will be responsible for assisting with the
installation, operation and maintenance of building mechanical services and
equipment including all internal/external reticulated pipe work.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”
- Troubleshoot, perform repairs and service for work orders and installed work.
- Perform routine maintenance jobs and repairs.
- Repair or replace piping, valves and other components using hand tools and
power tools.
- Advise supervisor on whether continued operation of equipment or working
conditions could be hazardous or pose potential safety risks.
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair pipes, equipment,
and fixtures.
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test
equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct
the problem.
- Inspect mechanical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards,
defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with
codes.
- Plan layout and installation of mechanical systems based on job
specifications and local codes.
- Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of plumbing
and equipment.
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair plumbing, equipment,
and fixtures.
- Perform duties such as maintaining apprenticeship records and files as
required.
- Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring
Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
What You’ll Need
- Advanced technical skills and experience related to plumbing installations
that make up the HVAC Building Automation we offer our clients.
- Advanced mechanical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power
tools such as drill, threader, solders, etc.)
- Must be a self-starter and work well with minimal supervision.
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and staff development skills. Actively seeks
ways in which to act as a role model, guide, develop and mentor others within
the team.
- Travel to jobsites is required with approximately 10% travel, this
occasionally includes overnight.
- Valid driver’s license and abstract is required.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced organizational skills and the ability to keep tools and work area
tidy.
- Good computer skills including familiarity with MS Office applications
(Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Must have the appropriate tools for the job based on the Convergint tool list
requirements
Requirements
- 5 - 7 years experience in commercial plumbing service experience required
- Holds valid Plumbing ticket.
- Valid and clean drivers license is required.
