About the role:
Reporting to the Director, Global Sales, the Lead, Marketing Operations is responsible for overseeing a team of eight across two locations and for the strategic planning of the marketing operations function. This function manages sales contracts from deal closure through to invoicing and liquidation, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
This role requires proactive communication with a range of stakeholders, accurate record maintenance, and contributions to the seamless execution of sales and contract-related processes—either directly or through effective team coaching. The Lead will also manage audits of the sales process and partner with Digital Systems to enhance internal sales platforms.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with exceptional listening and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate the needs of diverse stakeholders with competing priorities. A strong attention to detail is essential, particularly in reviewing documentation and data for accuracy and timeliness. Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workloads to meet internal and external deadlines are also critical for success in this role.

In this role you will:
Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Lead the Marketing Operations team, which manages all aspects related to contracts and internal contract systems (CCM and OM), including order entry, SOX/Audit compliance and customer communications through to shipment preparedness and documents related to invoicing of coal sales; including, but not limited to: Bills of Lading, Certificates of Analysis, Letters of Credit, Tonnage Confirmation, Laytime calculations, US and Canada customs reporting
Continually review the sales operations process with a goal to create time efficiencies and accuracy improvement, collaborating with Digital Systems when required
Ensure contract terms and conditions comply with approved templates and monitor status of contracts, including all applicable notice provisions and critical dates
Liaise with the Glencore marketing head office contracting teams and operations managers to ensure alignment on processes and updating Confluence system as required to properly document procedures
Calculate and confirm provisional and final prices for index-linked sales
Lead in the development or enhancement of marketing systems by partnering with internal stakeholders (IS, accounting and management) to match business processes to system applications
Provide month-end reporting as required
Act as Central Point of Contact for Audit, both Internal and External
Ensure procedures have been updated and are being followed (EVR Marketing Procedure, DOA, Know Your Counterparty, Third Party Payment)
Prepare and present vessel delays and commercial/financial vessel status during weekly meetings
Requirements:
Diploma in Business Administration or related post-secondary education
Minimum five years’ experience including experience in leading teams
CCLP (CITT) designation considered an asset and an understanding of Letters of Credit and Bills of Lading documentation
Proven competence with MS applications, particularly Word and Excel. Experience with SAP and CRM would be preferred
Oversee compliance regarding sales policies and procedures
Proven customer-centric competencies and experiences - ensure customer satisfaction through efficiency, accuracy, timeliness and transparency
Knowledge of supply and delivery of products including production scheduling and logistics preferred
Demonstrated commitment to health, safety and sustainability
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent

$120,000 - $131,000 a year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
