We are currently seeking Intermediate and Senior Process Engineers with strong technical expertise to join our Calgary-based engineering team. These roles offer the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects across oil & gas, mining, and renewable energy, while mentoring and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality process engineering design and technical solutions for a variety of industrial projects.
Perform conceptual studies, pre-FEED and FEED studies (FEL1, FEL2, FEL3).
Develop and review key deliverables including:
Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs)
Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
Heat & Material Balances (HMBs)
Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Line Designation Tables (LDTs)
Shutdown Keys, Process Control Narratives, and Design Basis Memoranda (DBMs).
Apply strong troubleshooting and debottlenecking skills for brownfield and greenfield projects.
Conduct process simulations using HYSYS, Symmetry, or equivalent tools.
Participate in or lead risk assessment activities (PHA, HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA).
Support or act as Engineer of Record (EoR) where applicable.
Provide regulatory and compliance knowledge, ensuring designs meet requirements (ABSA, ANSI, API, and other codes/standards).
Conduct field verifications, as-builts, and site support activities.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, project managers, clients, and other disciplines.
For Senior Engineers: mentor junior staff, oversee deliverables, and lead discipline scope within projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent discipline).
Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Alberta required; additional jurisdictions considered an asset.
Intermediate level: 5–8 years of relevant process engineering experience.
Senior level: 10+ years of progressive process engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
Strong background in oil & gas production facilities, gas compression, gathering systems, pipeline facilities, fractionation, turbo-expander cryogenic plants, dehydration, waste heat recovery, renewable energy processes, and/or loading terminals.
Proficiency in industry-standard simulation and design software (HYSYS, Symmetry, or equivalent).
Proven ability to work effectively in multi-discipline EPCM environments.
